Critical thinking is a fundamental skill necessary for empowerment and character development, allowing students to interact with others and the world with discernment. Through critical thinking, students develop a moral framework to guide them in choosing a path of action with integrity.
Developing critical thinking skills enables First Nations, Métis and Inuit students to question historical perspectives that distort their experiences and cultural knowledge. Indeed, all students from marginalized groups are better equipped to advocate for themselves and their communities by developing their critical-thinking abilities.
